Be Careful What You Pray For!

So, I thought this whole notion of creative disruption for the sake of of spiritual growth and renewal was pretty clever, and it seems to have captured the imagination of the folks around the congregation in a helpful way. I have loved hearing about what you are up to!

I had this vision of the journey upon which I was embarking as one of serene and tranquil reflection on thankfulness. God has apparently had other plans for me. The Season of Lent, so far has been filled with intense needs from those I love and serve and this has simply pushed everything else aside (including this blog). It has been gratifying and overwhelming at the same time and has taught me once again the lesson of humility.

Ah, the old adage, "be careful what you pray for!" I have been creatively disrupted...

A Great Buzz

No, not that kind of buzz! But now that you are reading this post I can tell you that there is a great deal of buzz around King of Glory with regard to the whole notion of creative disruption! Wow, have I heard some creative ways that you are all stirring things up in your lives! I am praying for each and every one of you.

Now, I am not ranking ideas, but I must say that my attention was certainly grabbed by the email that said: "Pastor Tim, I am going to prison for Lent." I was relieved to see the parenthetical note that it was for Kairos ministry (to be a leader on a spiritual renewal weekend for inmates).

The Journey Begins...

This morning I sat in the sanctuary from 6 - 8 a.m. as members came through the doors to receive ashes and hear the words "remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return," which are a reminder of mortality but also a reminder to live in the fullness of God. What an amazing experience of grace for me. After I was finished, I jumped in the car to head off for a bite of breakfast and don't you know it, the first song on the radio was "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas...
