Be Careful What You Pray For!

So, I thought this whole notion of creative disruption for the sake of of spiritual growth and renewal was pretty clever, and it seems to have captured the imagination of the folks around the congregation in a helpful way. I have loved hearing about what you are up to!

I had this vision of the journey upon which I was embarking as one of serene and tranquil reflection on thankfulness. God has apparently had other plans for me. The Season of Lent, so far has been filled with intense needs from those I love and serve and this has simply pushed everything else aside (including this blog). It has been gratifying and overwhelming at the same time and has taught me once again the lesson of humility.

Ah, the old adage, "be careful what you pray for!" I have been creatively disrupted...

  1. I joined the choir at KOG as my Creative Disruption during the Season of Lent. I've thought about doing this for a long while but always had excuses to put it off. After attending two rehearsals last Sunday I sang with the choir. I find that I really enjoy the rehearsals and Sunday at church was awesome. Thank you Pastor Tim

  2. I decided to increase my devotion in both time and depth by using the writings of men and women through the ages from the first century to modern times who are found in Devotional Classics. I planned to read C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity" in one week, two and a half weeks later I finished. Really thought provoking. I am now into Dallas Willard's "The Cost of Nondicipleship". Not as fast as I would like to be reading, but much to think and pray about.

  3. For Lent we have started a FIT club at KOG...it is my creative disruption on my Lenten journey and I just have to say "What a gift!" Trust me getting up and out the door before 7am on a Saturday morning is a struggle, but this past Saturday when I rolled out of bed, changed into my clothes and walked out the door, the birds sang the most beautiful song to my heart. I just knew in that minute this time spent with the amazing dedicated women would bless me with God in the midst. In fact this creative disruption is more than I imagined!! It is only Monday and I can't wait for next Saturday!! It is an open group and I extend an open invitation...still 4 weeks left in Lent, why not find inspiration with us!! I am truly inspired through God and the time spent with the ladies who are soooo faithful to show up!!
    To God the glory:)
